Mountain Lacrosse Girls 2021 FALL BALL 3rd - 8th Grades
MLAX is fielding teams for the GIRLS’ South Suburban Park and Recreation (SSPR) Fall Lacrosse League. MLAX teams will practice one night per week with games on Saturdays. The fall league is different from the Spring league, so please read through the following information carefully for complete details.
PLAY: Fall Ball is a FUN way to get sticks in the girls' hands in a non-competitive FUN program with their peers. Fall Ball is intended to provide players a chance to get comfortable playing team lacrosse and give experienced players an option to continue to hone their skills in the off-season. It is preferred that players have at least one season of regular team play experience (exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis). If you are new to MLAX and/or unsure if your player is better suited for the MLAX SSPR Fall League or the MLAX Girls Learn to Play Clinic, please email
and we will contact you to discuss your situation. Our goal is to make sure your player has the best experience possible!
Fall ball does NOT strive to form competitive teams. The goal of the program is to have fun, improve skills, and allow newer players to learn the game with the LEADERSHIP of experienced players.
PRACTICES: one night a week at Marshdale East Field starting the week of August 23: Specific Dates and Times to Be Determined.
GAMES: Games will be played in the South Suburban Park & Rec (SSPR) League on Saturdays from Sept. 11 - Oct. 16. Games will be played anytime between 8am - 6pm at David A Lorenz Regional Park or Cornerstone Park.
COST: $150 You will need to register with Mountain Lax and then completed an SSPR wavier for this league (sorry for the inconvenience). In addition, every player must have a US Lacrosse membership for insurance and liability purposes. Players without a current US Lacrosse membership may sign up for one during our registration process at a cost of $30. The membership will last for 1 year and will cover you through our Winter and Spring programs as well. Please let us know if you need financial assistance.
Equipment: Full equipment required. SSPR will be providing game pennies.
Full Disclosure: The fall ball season is intended to be a much less competitive version of the spring season. It is intended to be "spring light" with a practice/game schedule that allows for flexibility for other activities. Team rosters are different than the spring season and players from all abilities are placed together on the same team. The motto for fall ball is "relax....just roll with it".
Last: We never know how many players we are going to get for Fall Ball, thus things may change or we may have to cancel teams if we don't have enough players for a specific age group. Just a heads up!
